Digital books







 Hello everyone .
Today we had a very interesting hour during the lecture ,the subject was digital books and how can we use them ,the professor there demonstrated a whole new process ,a whole new program about digital text books how can we create exercises,how to treat different topics in class with smartboards.
Actually ,the software the professor demonstrated to us was thoroughly  interesting ,really helfpful I must say, I enjoyed the whole hour especially the part of audio video exercises and many others that were shared there .
But what are these digital textbooks ?
A digital textbook is a digital book or e-book intended to serve as the text for a class. Digital textbooks may also be known as e-textbooks or e-texts. Digital textbooks are a major component of technology-based education reform.
They may offer better access to quality texts in the developing world. For this reason, many schools and colleges around the world have made the implementation of digital textbooks a central component of education policy. For example, in South Korea, reading materials in all public schools are digitized since  2015. In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission aimed  for every student to be able to have access to e-texts by 2017,and they did it for most of them .
However, the transition to e-textbooks is costly, complex and controversial. It is surely not easy.
Students express a strong preference for printed materials in many surveys and across cultures. Many interconnected factors, from device access, to digital literacy, to teaching methods affect the implementation of digital textbooks in the classroom. 
There are many  advantages of digital textbooks, I think we all agree that they can make the hour interesting for real . They may offer lower costs, make it easier to monitor student progress. Open source e-textbooks may offer the opportunity to create free  textbooks for different basic subjects, or give individual teachers the opportunity to create e-texts for their own classrooms, so that we the teachers of the future can help not only our student but ourselves as well so as to conduct a good hour an entertaining one,because we surely know student pay a lot more attention if they like what is being presented . So if you make it interesting and attractive for what eye meets ,make them interact for sure you will have their attention.
I find them very interesting but can’t deny as well that the transition to these digital books is not easy and it reqiures a lot of hard work and effort especially in our schools.But as long as we try to use these ebooks ,try to include them in our schools the better the quality will be.There is always place for improvement.At least that’s my personal opinion .

    Hello Aida .I found the link interesting . I do agree with you that using digital textbooks can make an hour interesting .As you also mentioned is not that easy and it requires a lot of hard work . So let's hope for the best.Good job.

    I find it really interesting as a useful way to teach students. They actually love these kind of methodology, music, videos and learning through games.

    Hello Aida
    i really like your post. i agree with all the positive effects of using e-books but also i want to add the fact that if each student has e e-book then there will be not need for heavy bags with a lot of books.

      Thank you for the comment Ida ! I agree for sure that one of the advantages is the removal step by step of those heavy bags we are used to have with us from the beginning.

    Using E-books it sure is interesting and it would benefit in the long process at the economical view however i believe that as interesting and helpful it is that much challenging can become for the old generation of teachers that were not born into a technological thriving century like he most are. This books however sure are the future and whoever wants to be part of the future needs to go with the flow of time. I wanted to thank you for the information that you provided to us. Well done!
